  • RICK MILLER

    SENIOR PASTOR

    Rick joined the staff as Senior Pastor in 2009. Prior to Zion, Rick pastored a Covenant church in Northport, Michigan for twelve years, and before that planted a church in South Lyon, Michigan. His first call was as educator and campus pastor at a Lutheran high school in Westland, Michigan. Rick has a B.A. from Northwestern College (’83) and a M.Div. from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary (’87), and is ordained in the Evangelical Covenant Church. Rick is single, never married. He has four brothers, the youngest of which is also a pastor. Rick loves northern Michigan - just ask him! He enjoys all things building and architecture. He built two homes and has renovated four others, including two 1920’s bungalows.

  • JAY BAEHR

    YOUTH & WORSHIP PASTOR

    Jay has been on staff since 2007 and serves as the Pastor of Youth and Worship. He graduated from North Park University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Biblical and Theological Studies. He received a certificate of Worship Arts from Covenant Bible College and then a Master of Special Education from Mercyhurst University. He is the husband of a beautiful secondary English teacher, Elizabeth, and father of five energetic children: Mathis, Charlotte, Asher, June, and Theodora.

  • DENISE DEANGELO

    DIRECTOR OF CHILDREN & FAMILY MINISTRIES

    Denise has served in kids' ministry for twenty - plus years, and as Director of Children's Ministry at Zion since 2010. She is passionate about sharing God's love with kids, both at church and in the community, and empowering them to disciple and serve others. Denise is married to a great guy named Jon, who lovingly supports her coffee and chocolate addiction. They have three kids - Laurynn, Jon Michael, and Siena.

  • CHARLES JOHNSON

    ORGANIST & CHOIR DIRECTOR

    Charles has served at Zion since August of 2015. He holds Bachelors' degrees in Music Education and Bible from Clarks Summit University and a Master's degree in Music Education from Eastern Michigan University. His musical background includes choral conducting, organ / piano performance, praise band directing, K-12 music education, and private piano teaching. He is the husband of Marci Johnson, a private voice teacher in Jamestown. They have three children: Lilly, Matthew, and Anna. He enjoys spending time with his family at Chautauqua Institution over the summer.

  • PAMELA CAPRINO

    ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

    Pam has been part of Zion's family since 1993, working on staff full time from 2007 through September 2019. That's when Karen, the new office secretary, came on board so that Pam could graduate to part-time. She's been active in worship, outreach and women's ministry, and is also a pianist/songwriter. She's a single mom to three young adults - Gabe, Josiah and Clare - who give her reason to travel to Washington DC and Nashville. Prior to raising her family she was the Teacher/Director of a Christian School in Cattaraugus, New York, and has a Bachelor of English/ Elementary Education from Roberts Wesleyan College.

  • JILL SPITZER

    CHILDREN & FAMILY MINISTRIES' ASSISTANT

    Jill has been Denise's assistant in Children's Ministry since the fall of 2011, helping keep all the details in order. She's married to Nick, who is a Phys Ed teacher at Sinclairville Elementary School. Jill has a Bachelors in Psychology from SUNY Brockport, which helped prepare her for life with FIVE daughters: Annika, Mattie, AJ, Joelle, and Alaina.

    PRESCHOOL DIRECTOR

    Adrianne ( 'Andi' ) has been on staff since 2009, directing our growing, full day Preschool. Andi graduated from Geneva College with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education, and from Slippery Rock University with a Master's in Reading Diagnosis & Remediation. She's the mother of four incredible children - Jonathan, Mark, Cathryn, and Benjamin - and lives at home with her two dogs and cat.

  • RON GRAHAM

    CHURCH CUSTODIAN

    Ron and his wife, Helen, have been long time members of Zion, and raised their family here. Ron is passionate about many things, including mentoring and working with young people (presently a track coach in Dunkirk, too); facilitating in racial justice initiatives locally; gardening and raising chickens and other creatures on his small farm; and enjoying his grandkids! He's worked at Zion over the years in various property-keeping roles. In late summer 2019, Ron took over when Judy Snow retired.

    CHURCH SECRETARY
    Karen began her role as the Office Secretary in August 2019 and works Monday through Friday mornings. Karen and her husband Ken have attended Zion for about seven years. She's been very active: participating in the Wednesday Women's Bible study, serving on the Visitation Team, assisting with funeral lunches, digging in Zion's memorial garden, helping at the Info Desk, and has recently joined the Prayer Team. At home she enjoys walks, cooking, gardening, reading, Hallmark movies and especially, time with Ken. Skylar Hillman joined the family in 2015 at age 16. He is currently a senior at Houghton College.
